Attorney Tax to Fund Law Library

The Sarasota County Attorney Tax is to be paid by persons licensed as members of the Florida Bar residing and practicing law, or maintaining an office, in Sarasota County. The fee is $25.00 annually, and the tax is used to fund the Sarasota County Law Library.

How to Register to Pay the Tax
Attorneys paying the tax for the first time need to complete a Registration Form. Contact our office for assistance making payment for the fist time. If you are located within city limits, you may be required to pay a business tax to the local municipality: Longboat Key, North Port, Sarasota, or Venice. Also, you may be required to file a Tangible Personal Property Tax Return with the Property Appraiser.

How to Pay the Annual Attorney Tax
After the first year, the annual tax may be paid online, by mail or in person. Bills are emailed or mailed in early August. The easiest and quickest way to pay is online, and no password or registration is required. There are numerous payment options. If you pay online, you can print a tax receipt immediately. If you pay by mail, please allow a week before printing the receipt.

Printing the Receipt
You may print or reprint a tax receipt at any time by accessing your account online.
