You may renew within the 18 months prior to expiration. A delinquent fee is required when renewing after the expiration date.
Please note the following:
- Drivers age 80 and over must meet certain vision requirements. Read more information concerning vision requirements.
- Non-U.S. citizens must visit a driver's license office to renew and present proof that they are legally authorized to be in the U.S. ("legal presence"); contact our office for more information.
- Military members and dependents have special provisions. Read more information for military members.
- U.S. citizens and Immigrants who are not Real ID compliant do not have a Gold Star in the upper right-hand corner of their driver's license. You may process one online convenience renewal before you are required to bring the necessary documents to our office. If you have already used your convenience renewal, you will need to present proof of identification, proof of social security number, and proof of residential address. See Document Requirements.
